hi guys ,been offered jeep cherokee xj ,are the heater cores a pain to change cheers karl

yeah, you have to remove the dash. i just did mine and it was not fun. i also did the ac evaporator at the same time since i had it all apart already.

They are a PITA. Part is cheap, labor will kill you if you take it to a shop (about a days work).

Hope you can do the work yourself. Familiarize yourself with the procedure before digging in.

just did mine .. took about 6 hours.... just keep all the bolts seperate so you dont lose n e thing

hi ,my jeep is right hand drive do you think i would be able to get through the glove box , iv not really had a good look but i do all the jobs myself , id like to try a do it with out takeing to dash out what do you think, cheers karl

Never heard of it being possible without removing the dash. You need to access a factory service manual for specifics.

cant do it without removing the dash ... in order to change the heater core you have to pull out the housing box and that cetainly wont come out of the glove box
