I used 3m super 90 spray. Been a year and my headliner is still good.

I replaced my headliner last November. I am very happy with the results. Used 2 cans of Permatex. Just like FTHESHACK said, take your time with the prep work and follow the directions on the can.

Doesn't it say on the super 77 can "not for headliners" or something like that?

I used 77 on a another car's headliner many years ago and I can see it starting to release slowly. I've done my XJ with the 3M headliner stuff #38808 and it's holding strong so far.

I looked on the can and it didn't say but I think enough of you convinced me not to use the 77.

Got it done today. Wasn't too bad of a job, just a little time consuming. The only thing I wish I had done was to overlap the front of the headliner instead of cutting it off at the edge. You can see an unfinished edge ever so slightly through the front windshield. Oh well, I am still happy how it turned out. Here are some pictures.

I wouldn't use the "77" for a headliner. I do use it for covering Guitar amps & cases, and it works for good for that.......
