Ok heres the deal. My parking lights work when the **** is pulled half way out. Headlights refuse to turn on when the **** is pulled completely out. High beams work only momentarily when the lever is pulled back but it clicks back to normal. They stay on if the lever is "held" back. I checked the fuse under the hood and it is good. I replaced the headlight switch and it still does the same thing. Im kinda lost now besides replacing the wiring harness. Any ideas? 95 Jeep Cherokee Sport

 

I am having the same issue. I recently replaces the switch and notices the wiring harness was melted slightly in spots. I cut a decent one out of a wrecked one and am going to attempt to splice it to my wiring. I don't have the patience to replace the wires back to the fuse box, so crossing my fingers.

 

Lemme know what happens. I just bought a circuit tester and I'ma test all the connections. Hopefully I can find the short and just replace that specific wires(s)
