I swear my Jeep is a ghost .
While driving home at night, the highlights will go out completely, then flicker.
The headlights go out at the same exact spot every night, flicker for a few miles and then come back on at the same exact spot. What I mean by exact spot is, the head lights will cut out when im exactly 3 telephone poles from my turn, then the will flicker every once in a while, then come back on when I pass a house before my next turn.
Its been doing this for 2 weeks. Does it every single night, at the same spot.
It will not do it anywhere else. As soon as I pass that 3rd telephone pole, out goes my head lights.
Dash lights all stay on ( once they went out ) . Engine runs fine, everything works.
Yes my headlight switch is good. Nothing melted, all connections are good.front end was taken apart this summer all connections have dielectric grease.
Its a 91 Cherokee.
Guess its not that big of a problem, since I know exactly when they will cut out, I just turn on the brights. The road is NOT bumpy either.
Any ideas?

The headlight switch has a circuit breaker in it that affects headlamps only. They get weak as a result of all the resistance in the undersized wiring.
Just a suggestion: Add a supplemental headlight harness which take s the load off the switch and enjoy about 35% brighter lights as a bonus. about a half-hour job.
