headlights??

Default headlights??

so ive looked around and i cant find a way to see if these will fit in my XJ. they say on ebay that they will fit but im not sure if it needs the HID kit or what so i figured that someone on here would be able to answer my question pretty easily.

Yes those are the correct size-However they aren't meant for HID's. They just take the H4 style of headlight bulb. Now this isn't to say that HID's can't be installed in them.. A link to a set-up is https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/7x...-build-112158/
It's definitely a retrofit style and may not be legal where you live; however, there are proper and legal kits that can be bought.
So to your question-Yes they fit, no they don't need the HID kit because as they sit they are not HID compatible, they use the H4 bulb.

See post above. Good info. Oh and since you are looking to upgrade to the H4 bulbs, make sure to get one of these guys: http://www.eautoworks.com/Putco-H4--...s-PRD7540.aspx

And since you're looking at projectors, the light pattern will more or less be "scattered", which may in turn not look as bright, be hard to aim and also, law enforcement may not like them too much

These along with the harness previously suggested will make you happy and oncoming drivers happy for less than $100 total.
