Default Headlight switch?

I have a 1995 Cherokee country with 248,000 on the clock and noticed that the driver's side bottom marker light has stopped working with the headlight switch engaged. It works with the turn signal just fine. I'm not really sure if it is a dead short coming from the switch or just a bad switch.

Thanks, John

Are we talking about the actual turn signal under the headlamp or the marker light on the side perpendicular to the headlamp?

You're going to have 3 wires going into the turn signal lamp under the headlamp.

Light green, Black, and Yellow.

Light green Will be to supply power when you activate the turn signal switch. You have confirmed this circuit to be good because you said it works!

Black Will be a ground. You have confirmed this circuit to be good because you said it works!

Yellow This is where your problem lies. It is powered through the headlamp switch and fuse 8. The switch and fuse are confirmed to be working because you said the other side works (the opposite side is also powered through the same switch and fuse 8).

So my online prediction is you have an open Yellow wire that is not making connection and not giving you the running lamp you so expect. Check continuity of this Yellow wire while the lights are on and you should receive power through it. Trace the wire and find the break.

Maybe im completely wrong but checking wiring is pretty much going to tell you where your problem is! Good luck!
