Headlight ****... loose?
This is kind of a silly problem, and its not really all that bothersome, but I figured I'd ask.
I have an 87 XJ and it has one of the old light ***** where you have to pull it out to turn headlights on and rotate it to turn on the dash/dome lights.
If I pull it out then turn it counterclockwise until it clicks, the dome and dash lights come on, which seems proper. The issue I'm having is that there's some tiny midlevel I have to hit right before the click to turn on the dashlights WITHOUT the dome lights, which is fine also, but anytime I hit a good bump, the **** moves slightly and the dash lights go out.
Its a little annoying and I was wondering if there's any way to... tighten (?) the **** so that the dashlights will stay on?
Its been this way the whole time I've had it. Is it wired wrong? Should the dashlights come on when I pull out the **** at all? Just seems like its not working exactly as it should.

The switch is worn out.
