I have installed 5 so obviously i like the wiring harness. You have been given an idea of what they do. you must decide for yourself. It should not be a real brainer for you.

Kinda hokey and not real detailed but hope these help. So just order your harness already. I guarantee you will not be disappointed and actually I'm sure you'll be tickled pink with the results of adding the harness.

Cruiser’s Headlight Upgrade Harness Instructions

Absolutely plug and play. Remove grille and headlamp bulbs. I fed my harnesses from the passenger side starting between the battery and the back of the headlamp housing, over to the driver side. Plug the driver side bulb into the new harness. Attach the new harness's ground wire under one of the small bolts on the radiator support after scraping the paint off under it. Attach the harness to the existing harness behind the grille working toward the passenger side. . Plug the new harness plug into passenger headlamp. Plug original headlamp plug into receptacle on new harness. Attach the ground for the passenger side just like you did the driver side under a radiator support bolt. Attach relays with provided bracket on the passenger side inner fender. Connect power wires to battery.

None cheaper. I don't have photos but I can tell you the output of your stock lamps will increase about 30% JUST by adding the harness. They'll go from kinda crappy to kinda nice.

So these will not alter my "orange" lights that I leave on while driving in the day?

Nope. It will just make your headlights brighter.

If I build my own harness....am I better off using one relay for both headlights or stick to two? (one for each side) or it doesn't matter as much?

I think it's more like one relay for low beam and one relay for high beam, so you'll need two relays..

I built my own harness, and used four relays, two for low and two for high, I had planned on just two but had the extra relays kicking around. The upgraded harness is a huge upgrade over stock wiring

Here's the easy way if you've got the cash.

Did any of you ('97-'99 XJ) have working factory fog lamps when you installed the harness from eAutoworks?

eautoworks: Harness + Shipping = $46

LMC truck (see my earlier post): Harness + Shipping = $41

Small difference but every bit helps

They were about $18 each when I bought my three with free shipping on a $50 purchase. Things have changed......
