I am using sylvania silverstars and are pretty nice with the harness. May go to a hella e-code with better bulbs when time comes.

Can you just upgrade to wires to 10 gauge wire and get the same results? Or does it have to do with the relay?

Ask this guy if a headlight harness upgrade is worth it.

Noticed the description calls for NO day time running lights.
Which I have on my 00 and living in Canada is the law.
Do you guys think it might work, or am I going to have to build a custom job myself?
I was going to do that anyways but thought a kit would be a better, faster way to go.

When i built my harness, the drls did function, but not correctly, because i used the factory headlight plug for the signal wires on the relays. When the drls were on, it still triggered the relay on giving the high beam full voltage(not the reduced voltage the drl puts to the light). I havent come up with a soluition yet, other than unpluging the drl module.

What's so special about the relays? This seems like something you can do for way cheaper then buying the kit.

Correct if im wrong haven't done this mod yet, but the relays allow an open un hindered amount of voltage/amps to the headlights while keeping said voltage /amps from traveling thru the headlight switch/fuse otherwise you would burn up the switch

Very true. You can make a harness yourself or purchase one from a vendor. Search "gojeep" on Google. He has a write-up on making your own harness. I don't think it's worth it myself. I've installed 3 harnesses purchased from www.eautoworks.com with excellent results. Get the one for H-4s.

I'm not being rude by saying this but Ik how a relay works. But what I was trying to say was how is that one any greater then the stock one in the fuse panel?

Oh ok got ya my bad. I believe that the is a certain built in current draw limitation. Ie mine has a 25 amp fuse. So no matter how much I put to it I can't exceed that amperage to the bulbs or it will blow the fuse. Correct me if im wrong but by bypassing that with relays powered from the battery ur only limited by what ur wiring gauge will hold/battery can transfer. Just a educated guess

The relays take battery power directly to the lamps with 10 gauge wire. Compare that to running the current up through a headlight switch through 14 or 16 gauge wire.
