So I have a 99 xj and I need to replace the header panel, but I have no clue how to do it. Any body got some good instructions or helpful links?

I replaced this on my 2000 xj not too long ago. Pretty easy, just bolts along the top holding it on. You'll need to disconnect the head lights also (I think), and the grill just snaps in place. I dont remember if you need to remove the lens bezel, but if you just look at it you will see what needs to come off

No, there are screws that hold it in at the top.

there are the 6 or so screws along the top rad support that you can see.
there are also 2 nuts on each side, behind the headlight bezel.

don't forget to unplug the headlights and marker lights. or just unplug the harness.

I need to do this too! Mines cracked in the middle of where the jeep logo is. Trying to find a flame red one! There was one at the jy but it had a few holes in it

This.

I may replace mine, as 3 of the 6 bolts across the top have the plastic part broken off the panel.

Have you found a header panel? This looks like a pretty good deal on Fleabay. Loaded header panel with grill, $128 shipped. Don't know about the quality.

Thanks alot guys! I think I'm getting one off amazon or eBay. Mine actually got pushed up a little and shifted my hood, so hopefully I can get it all squared away easily

If I were you I'd hold out for an OEM header panel. The Ebay specials are molded plastic and don't fit near as well as OEM.

You should be able to swap out the panels in less than 15 minutes.

Remove the bezels, remove the lower marker light on the front, remove the 2 13mm nuts behind the headlight bezel, remove the 2 13mm nuts on the back side of the radiator support, remove the10mm nuts across the top of the header panel and unplug the harness.

Do those steps again in reverse.

Done.
