head replacemnet thanks
Replaced the head on my 2000, no problems with old head but it was a 0331 so I put a new casting J & C enterprise, so I would not have the problem at some point in the future. Also few other things I wanted to do on engine while it was tore down some. I wanted thank poster on here (sorry don't have members name post was something like head replacement for newbies), suggested that cutting heads off the old head bolt and then cutting a groove in them to use as guides for new head. It worked great keep new head in alignment with new head gasket, so the new head went on with out having to adjust it in place on the new gasket. So thanks jeep forum. Drove the jeep for week straight now to work with no problems and a weight off my mind about cracking the head sometime in the upcoming Louisiana summer.
no valve train is what was on it they looked great as you can see in pics didn't even clean them just soaked in some mobil one and reinstalled. well into the 90's today heat index above 100 and temp never went above 212-213 in stop and go traffic with a/c blasting full force, very happy at the moment .
