Default Head gasket sealers

Hi all, new to the forum and I want to thank you all in advance for any help you may be.

1999 Cherokee sport - Has anyone used any type of head gasket sealer like "Bars leaks" with any luck? I am going to repair the head gasket properly as soon as my wallet allows, but I am trying to band-aid the problem in the meantime.

Thanks again

Unless you want to clog up your entire cooling system AND your interior heater, don't use any type of so called "stop leak".

Stop driving it until you can fix it right.

Bourbon......I agree COMPLETELY with Firestorm!!!!!!

Fix it right! replace head gasket.

weekend is coming up, you got all weekend to mess ...er I mean fix it all right!

anyway, just trying to be lighthearted here.

Yeah, dont use any stop leak or stuf like that, that will just complicate things related to cooling/heating down the road.

"Motion seconded, Mr. Chairman!"

cheers and best of luck!

A gasket kit will not cost that much, but you will spend more if you use Mechanic-INA-Bottle and let it go.

Don't use additives. Penny wise and pound foolish as the old saying goes. A head gasket is cheap if you can do the work yourself...........

Also, replacing a head gasket is a lot easier than replacing a clogged heater core!
