The motor is a 4.0 When I torque the rocker arms back down does each cylinder have to be at TDC? Also any advice for putting the heavy *** head back on? Any other tips/tricks/advice would be greatly appreciated this is my first time doing a head Gasket so I really need all the help I can get

I haven't done a 4.0. Make sure the surfaces are supper clean, give them a final wipe. No, you don't need to rotate it. As far as the weight, Idk..get help!

I have heard of people using a chain to a headbolt or rocker bolt and lowering it down. Might also want to try that with another person maybe try putting a 2x4 or something through the chain so you both can hold it. I have heard the head weighs 50-70 lbs. Not at all light or easy on a persons back.

Steroids! I pick things up I put them down!

No seriously, just ask someone for a few minutes of their time and lower it down. I did mine and did not think it was all that heavy.

I have heard depending on the year it can come off really easy because of the firewall overhang on the newer models. My renix seems like it'd be off as soon as the bolts are loose, some xj I have seen look like a pain in the butt.
