Default Hazards turning on with left turn indicator

Hey guys,
Just got a 98 Cherokee with the inline 6 a few months ago, and am ironing out some of the issues. I have lifter tick which is driving me insane but this post is about my turn signals. The problem is that when I indicate to turn left, my hazards flash as well. Has anyone had this problem? Anyone know if this is just another broken wire? I've soldered a few other wires already, and suspect that this one may be a crossed wire somewhere in the steering wheel assembly, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for places to look for a wire break.

I would suspect that your turn signal/ hazard switch is beginning to fail.

Before spending money on the switch, (which chances are you really need) replace the flasher that's up under the dash. I replaced my entire switch only to find that the flasher itself was bad. It did some strange things also.
They apparently don't last that long anyway so it shouldn't be money wasted.

Thanks guys, those are exactly the kind of responses that I was hoping for. I'll replace the flasher and then take a look at the switch if needed.

Just looked & switch is $37 at Autozone if it comes to that.
That's a good tutorial posted above. Wish I'd had it when I changed mine!

It was the switch, and it was very easy to replace. Thanks for the help, everyone.
