Having problems with '99 XJ driver & passenger controls
I purchased a '99 Cherokee XJ which had a broken passenger window regulator. I changed out the regulator and have now come across some issues with controls on the driver and passenger side.
1) The driver side switches/controls can not lock the doors. It can unlock them.
2) The front passenger side switches/controls can not control the front passenger window. The driver side controls CAN raise and lower the passenger window.
I have replaced BOTH front switch/control panels with brand new OEM units and the problems persist. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys!

Had the same thing, you'll need to do this.

yes this is most likely a wiring problem in the black rubber boot,i have a similer problem, front passanger and rear passanger door locks and un-locks randomly,i fitted a replacement passanger side door/window module after re-soldering the contact on the circuit board (after taking it apart)..i will see how it goes..but if i still have the problem..its going to be a job of checking the wires within the black rubber boot.good luck to you Kurcide in your quest.

The wiring in the rubber boot that goes between the driver's door and the pillar may be broken. You'll have to pull the boot back and examine the wiring.
