Saw these in a parking lot. I've never seen anything like them, didnt know if they were some custom job or if anyone has seen these for sale?

 

Some one else was asking the same question a few months back. I have never seen them until he posted a pic of them.

 

You can get them on ebay. IIRC they're some out of country spec tailights.

 

Okay off topic but I see these a lot, and I'm old schoolish, but what the heck is IIRC?!

eBay or as was mentioned before, maybe a different country's tail lights. Coming from the BMW world, I know that BMW has different tail lights for one model depending on year and/or destination market. There were many cases where the US got amber mixed into our lights because of the DOT whereas another country got tails that were all red and clear; US guys always wanted the other country's style and vice versa. I'd check eBay or look at european part diagrams if you can find them. Here's an eBay listing for a similar light that I plan to get for my black XJ:
