have a few questions about a xj

Just went and looked at a 93 xj. Its very cheap. It starts right up but don't move. The guy said tranny is out. Its has 140k on it. Is there any thing else to check be for ripping the tranny out? Fluid is dirty but not burnt. Please help me with this before its gone I want a xj.

Check the tranny cooler lines. Also the filter may need to be changed.

is it 4wd? check the linkage to the t-case. bushings wear down and get sloppy, shifter may appear to be in 2wd/4wd/4 low but t-case is actually stuck in neutral. happened to my buddys 95
