Default Harmonic balancer

My harmonic balancer has literally separated into 2 separate parts. i rented the pully puller from advance auto but i cant get the freakin bolt off the front of the thing. i tried vice grips to hold it but couldnt get it to work. any other ideas??

If the puller is the steering wheel type one you can match the bolts that fit and thread them in and use another wrench to jam them and keep the crank from turning

Use a strong impact air wrench.

thanks. i dont have access to an air ratchet at my house but i used a screw driver to leverage it on the block and it held it enough to loosen the bolt.

Tighten up the drive belt and it will help you to unscrew the bolt.
