So lately my fan belt has been making noise so i t tighten it up and its still making noise. I had the belt pretty tight. So i loosened it up and started the jeep and i heard something hitting somewhere so i turned the car off and if i spin my fan it hots the harmonic balancer. And when i had the belt on the harmonic balancer comes out farther then the other pulleys. As in my belts are not lined up straight. What do u guys think?

 

 

I think you have to install a new one.

 

I'd wager if you reached down there and got a hold of it that it would move around pretty freely for you. Time for a new HB. Should be relatively easy as long as no one buggered it for you before hand.
