94 xj, 4.0, crank,crank, crank, crank....... then starts. I havnt tried checking fuel pressure yet, but wanted to pick your brains before i do anything un-neccesary! thanks in advance!!!!

 

You may be experiencing a complete loss of fuel pressure due to a leak somewhere.

Fuel pressure testing with a gauge is absolutely your next step. Many big box parts stores will rent this gauge to you.

Find out what it is after it sits overnight, then watch it as it eventually starts, verify that idle pressure is good, then watch to see how fast it DROPS when the key is turned off. There is an acceptable pressure drop per the manufacturer in the factory service manual.
