Hey, I've searched and read lot's of threads. but haven't found an answer.
My 1987 Chief 4.0 backfires and misses. This happines around 2000-2500 rpm under normal driving conditions. But if I punch the accelerator It will pull hard all the way to redline without a hicup. Go Figure???
Here's what been changed recently with new or used known good parts.
-tps
-iac
-mat
-map
-ignition module&coil
-distributor & pick-up coil
-knock sensor.
All this stuff was change when I replaced the motor. I wrecked my 89 pioneer and had this chief with a broken tranny. So I swapped the tranny and put my goodies on the chief. Chief ran ****ty. So I swapped all the stuff listed and now only have this miss/backfire problem.
Any suggestions ???
