i have a transfer drop kit already. would it still be a good idea to get one anyway? and are they any good to a regular sye? i was going 6.5" but decided 4.5 with 1" spacers

If you have a t-case drop and it eliminated your vibes then you are good for now. Now in the long term I would strongly suggest an SYE and since you have an NP231 you can get a kit that will replace the shaft and such without the need of chopping anything. Also you can use a stock front driveshaft off an XJ with an auto trany as well in the rear with the SYE. An SYE is the best over all option in the long term.
