Figured I'd post this question here instead of creating a new thread.
I have a NP242 and got a Hack N Tap from IRO.
The installation instructions seem to be really lenient in where you cut the output shaft, a long as you leave 1.5" of splines remaining.
Now what if I go and pick up a front drive-shaft from the JY as everyone else does, but instead of hacking off the output shaft, reversing the direction of my springs, stretching the wheelbase and moving the rear end further back. I would then proceed with measuring the distance and trimming the output shaft to fit the stock front drive-shaft.
So: does anyone see a problem with installing a Hack-N-Tap essentially on the end of the stock output shaft (given about a 2" stretch).

thanks for the response. I figured that the yolk might have too much leverage without cutting it down. and damn, you have to move the tank for a rear stretch?

any more than about 2 " and depending on axles 2" is enough to hit..
What TH350 years and models did this come on, because finding one in a junk yard around here with holes in it like that is like finding hens teeth. Another question I have is that when I had my stock toke on the 8.25 it kept breaking strap bolts and twisting up the rear straps, I got a nitro yoke and used U-straps to hold it and now havent had a problem since, so will these bolts hold up?
