check the plugs on the harness.....there is most likely a loose wire. I had to re-crimp them. All is good since then

Also, since you were over near the drivers side headlight, check the factory harness connector under the airbox, just to make sure you didn't pull/wiggle that enough to cause an issue. My 96 had broken most of the wires off at the headlight side connector from years of weathering.

There’s a critical 10-pin connector for the front lighting system located in front of the air cleaner and behind the left headlight assembly.

Maybe you have the same problem I had. After I installed my harness, I would have intermittent issues with the lights. Checked all the connections and everything looked good. Upon much closer inspection, the positive trigger wire for the relay was mis-crimped. It was up in the pigtail socket, but the wire was cut wrong and the actual metal connector wasn't making contact with the wire. Pulled it out, re-crimped, and everything has been fine since.

My advise to both of you. First ask yourself one question. Did your highs work before you did the H4 Harness swap and/or were you having problems before? Answering this question will allow you to narrow down where the problem is. If the problem was introduced with the H4 Harness, first swap back to the original setup, and see if the problem goes away, if it doesn't, then look at the connector I mentioned (which Cruiser re-mentioned, as I learned about this thing from him when I had a similar issue).
