I decided to finally get some brighter headlights. I got the ones in the picture below. These ones have the h4 bulb and then below it, a smaller blue bulb (just cause I like the look). Curious though, just want to make sure I'm going to be doing this correctly. Where do I wire the smaller bulb to? I'm assuming to the red and one of the black wires connecting to the harness (also shown in the picture below where I'm holding the harness). I'd appreciate advice!

they're called "city lights". Just for show. I left mine disconnected in my jeep, but in my other truck I had them wired to a switch inside the cab.

I put some on my 98 XJ and all you have to do for the city lights is run the black wire to a good ground and the red I spliced to the parking lights. Make sure it is the parking light wire and not the turn signal wire or the will flash when you put on your turn signals.

I'm sure someone will be along with more info but it's a good idea to upgrade your harness while you're at it. Its pretty easy to do and just the harness alone will make your lights brighter and you'll reduce the risk of burning up your headlight switch.

Better get one of these and install it before your headlight switch burns out some dark night:

Nice. Sounds direct plug and play.

I want to get projectors, but that says only certain bulbs work.

Is this only comparable with certain setups?

(I could call and ask, but then only I would have the info)

Get a set of Autopals off ebay with some good bulbs. I'm running 90/100 bulbs and don't get flashed by oncoming traffic. Nice lens cut pattern on the Autopals.

Well I ditched the city lights. Maybe I'll hook em up later. Looks like I'll be picking up some of those harnesses then. But yeah other than that, it's direct plug and play. Just a few screws to do. Can't wait for the sun to go down so I can see the difference

Just ordered one of these. So there is a lot less of a chance that the switch will burn out, but does it make the lights brighter? Cause I turned em on tonight and I gotta say, I was rather disappointed haha
