gutter mount max weight
hi all
I'm currently thinking about making a gutter mounted roof rack out of conduit and I was wondering what is the max weight the gutters can handle
too much gear to carry inside, scuba camping, kids and gf's stuff. too much for an Xj
I might also built a small enclosed trailer

I may be wrong but I think the roof racks you can buy with the gutter mounts advertise something like 400lbs. on road and like 150lbs. off road...

This is what I've seen. I would think if you add center support legs, instead of just four corners, the capacity would go way up.
