Do any of you use products like GUMOUT, and do they work for you? Now i dont know if my jeep can lie or not, so I figured I'd ask one of you "jeepists" with your masters in "jeepology" & "jeepistry" for your opinion

What are you looking for? A fuel system cleaner? Injector cleaner? If so there are several products better than gumout. I use BG's 44k with every 2nd oil change. This time I'm going to try out the ZMAX though. I hear good things about it. Both of those run about $20 a bottle.

Wow and I thought $5 for TWO bottles of fuel system cleaner from gumout was bad.
99xjlove...Do you have any link or pictures that shows before and after to show the product us really doing anything at all??
That was kinda my point about the gas tank stuff...Who pulls the injectors and takes video before and after to see if it did anything?? The spray can...I can see the carbon deposits being removed...then again...compressed air might work just as well, who knows.

I use STP fuel system cleaner every other tankfull. I have no pics but can feel a slight improvement by the middle of the tank of fuel. Usually like $5.95 a bottle unless you catch it on sale.

I use and swear by SeaFoam.
Cleans intake valves when pulled thru a vacuum hose. ALSO is a great mosquito repellant...(1/3 can Run thru engine and watch the smoke show.)
Rest in tank.
Works wonders.

Yes I concur on an older engine but not too sure at what point it fails to be helpful. Do you have a point Howler?
In other words would you run it through a new car or wait a year or two or just use it on stuff that is ten years old or older?

The newer the vehicle, the less gunk is built-up the opposite is true for older engines.

With the lousy quality of gasoline in the past few years coupled with the high price per gallon; for which most drivers put in the cheapest they can find, almost every year could use a little help.
