groaning sound while in forward drive gear only
Hi everyone, love this forum and have learned much from it.
I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L, about 65000 miles on it, I have noticed a fairly loud groaning and clunking sound when the vehicle is sitting at idle in drive gear with the brakes on and also while driving. The sound goes away in neutral, and it goes away in reverse.
I added another quart of transmission fluid last night, without any effect...
I know I probably don't want to hear the answer, but at least I'll have an idea of what's wrong with it.
Thanks for any help.
Doofy
