Hey guys,
I just bought my XJ last weekend and two days ago I was driving around and started noticing a noise coming from my front driver's side wheel.
It seems to only happen when I'm driving relatively slow (25-30mph) but it might happen at higher speeds and I just don't notice it. It sounds like someone has a light piece of sheet metal and they're dragging it against the pavement as I'm driving. Additionally, I hear a decently loud pop coming from the wheel at random intervals.
Some additional info: It doesn't happen more frequently or less when I brake or turn.
I also took off the caliper and rotor from the wheel and turned it (to isolate any noise that was coming from brakes, etc..) and posted a video of it on Youtube -
. I'd appreciate any info.
The only reason I ask for help is because I bought this XJ with a limited knowledge of cars but the motivation to learn about em, that's why I can't diagnose problems off the bat. I thought at first it could be a wheel bearing but I don't really know what it sounds like. Someone also suggested a U-joint.
Thanks a lot!
