Grinding noise on left hand turns
Okay here's an interesting one...I am getting a grinding/binding/clunking noise when I take long sweeping left hand turns. It is getting worse. Here's the weird things about it:
No noise at full lock at slow speed (under 5 mph)
No noise when just driving highway
No noise on right hand turns
Has anyone ever experienced this? I looked at the front suspension seeing if anything is dangling and making contact with the suspension when it takes on a load but I cannot see anything that would cause so much noise for the little amount the suspension is moving.

Took another look at the Jeep just now...I think the sound is the splash guard as it has fallen and is hanging on the front suspension. Where do I find a replacement guard or is it even worth replacing? I have the up country upgrade so i have the front skidplate already...not too sure how much additional protection the splash guard would do?

i've read elsewhere that your 5 senses are more valable under the hood than your 10 fingers on the key board. glad you got the noise identified, great work!

grinding noise
I'm researching my seemingly identical problem... grinding noise at slow speed turns... somewhere (I haven't found it again yet) I saw some talking about replacing hubs?!? and possibly u-joint problems... I'm a total newbie to doing anything on my car myself... 0-: But I did recently replace my rear leaf springs all by myself (: Would really like to solve this as I just invested in some nice new wheels and tires... I'll keep researching...but appreciate any help or clues

I have same problem with 15" wheel and 235/75/15 tires... definite metal noise... Fellow over here https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/no...-sharp-153862/ had similar problem and said "i had the same issue. i greased my wheel u joints, and replaced my hubs. problem gone"... Any thoughts on this? Any clues as to how to diagnose...hate to just throw around $. P.S. - Not hijacking this thread...just being efficient (maybe) as we both may have same problem?

Considering maybe ordering 2 of these...but really have no idea how to install or what I'd be getting myself into... http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/se...597449&submit= or if there are better parts/suppliers...!?
