Default Cluster not working

Hey guys, tried searching but it never works for me. All my gauges stopped working. They were all working fine, then all stopped at once. Fuse it good. Anyone know what could cause it?

Probably bad ground. I know my brothers cherokee has a ground up under the drivers side dash. I would poke around for loose terminals.

Not exactly sure were it's at as my cherokee was a rats nest of wires behind the dash when I got it and I just kinda made everything fit wherever was easiest for me when I had the cluster out.

I don't think you search very hard because there are hundreds of threads on this common problem. Anyways, Did they come back on? If not try giving the dash just above the cluster a good firm slap and see if they come back on. If they are already working and they stop again (which they will) try hitting the dash like I mentioned. If they start working after that you have either a loose and or a dirty connection. You will have to remove the cluster and clean all the connections and make sure that they are all tight also make sure that the grounds are nice and tight too.

I tried every phrase I could think of in search and it comes back with nothing. Maybe it just my computer?

They haven't come back on yet. I did try hitting dash and that didn't work. Do you know where the cluster ground is at?

Not a problem just giving you a hard time. Some guys on here have had good luck by pushing firmly on the odometer reset button. There are some grounds behind the cluster.
BTW, Welcome to the forum.

Thanks. Yeah, my odometer button doesn't work. I will have to pull cluster and look for grounds.

Just weird that everything was fine and restarted to leave and everything is out. No gauges, no Speedo, no tach.

Yeah, That is exactly what happens when you have bad and or dirty connection. I have the dame problem going on with my 98. When the do go out I just give it a hit and the come back on. I have just been to lazy to pull my dash apart and fix it right.

Yeah, my daughters 98 does it too. With hers you just restart it and they work again.

With my 98 I had this problem too, weird, but i took it out, creaned all the connectors and plugged it back in and have been incident free for about 3 weeks so I think that should solve your problem
