Default Great start to a monday (sarcastic)

On my way to work I started to smell burnt metal and automatically figured my caliper is stuck do to a new brake job w/o replacing the calipers. I also started to smell gas in the cab....

What you guys have to say about that?

Pretty sure my Monday sucks more than yours...

I'm pretty sure I did everything right... I'm not even worried about the brakes... I'm worried about the smell of fuel

What kind of shape is you fuel filter in? All rusted? Check the fuel rail also.

Check the filter, they rust out, causing the fuel smell.

My filter is in my gas tank... my fuel rail itself is almost shiny, no rust... I read something about the evap canister but idk...

checked fuel lines and nothing that I can see is leaking... does it have to be an injector and bad o-rings?

If you had a bad injector o ring it would be wet there. If the evap system becomes clogged it could possibly cause a fuel smell. That im not too familiar with.

I mean there's residue around one of my injectors... But I have no clue where to start as far as the Evap system

I used to be a tech. Evap codes were always the worst. You made no money on them! It took forever to find a leak and we had a special sniffer to use.

Maybe wait for cruiser54 to get on, he is a genius with OEM tech. He would probably know the evap system in and out.

did you over fill your tank, if you just topped off (and I mean TOPPED off) you could have overfilled your tank filling the vent lines and charcoal canister. if thats what happened you'll smell fuel until you burn enough to draw the fuel out of the EVAP system.
