Im looking for a good sounding, cheap muffler for my 96 XJ. It is my daily driver, so I don't want it to "drone" inside the jeep much while driving.

What do you guys recommend?

If I get a flowmaster 40 and put the tail pipes all the way through to the back, will I get any droning in the cab?

i have a dynomax and I love it and it was only $150

 

I have a series 40 flowmaster and 2.5" piping. It dosnt drone really once it warms up, but it dosnt sound as good as I would like. I am thinking of adding a resonator, and see if that will help at all.

 

He said cheap... not $150... CB glass packs are 20 bucks at autzone... in stock most the time... thats cheap... lol

 

$150 is cheap compared to a lot of the $300 - $500 mufflers available. and $150 is cheap for a muffler that you don't have to replace every other month as you would for the $20 glass pack

 

anyone kno if autozone has a warranty on the cherry bomb mufflers they sell?

 

$300 - $500 for a muffler? never ever ever seen a muffler that cost that much... and if someone ever paid that there retarded lol... i can get a whole 5in exhaust for my 03 cummins 4 door long bed for $500... aint no way...

Also check out ebay man... you can get them cheap there... i got 2 single chamber mufflers brand new for $30 each ith 3in inlet and oulets for my old impala SB400 but sold the car so i stuck one of them under the jeep... welded it to where the cat bolts up... sounds awesome! now all i needs a cam but i gotta run it the rest of the way back still cause exhaust getting in the cab and stanks...
