Default gonna drain transmission pan, but...

I am looking to change my transmission fluid in a series of 3 or so pan drains and refills. I see its pretty unanimous that dex 3 is the way to go even though my FSM says dex 2e. Then I read a tsb that says atf+4 is now approved for the aw4.

I'm not the original owner and i have no idea whats in there now. Is there any danger in possibly mixing different types of atf without a complete flush in a series of pan drains?

Many folks have experienced slipping and other issues with +4.

Google it. I believe it's a synthetic.

I thought so. It will work fine. I've used synthetic in aW4s before with no issues. It's the aTF+4 that gives issues. But, Dex 3 is cheap and works well.

I need to flush my trans as well and swap the factory 2 row out. I have a real nice trans cooler from another project that never got used.
