going through a bottle of coolant a day
2000 Cherokee 144 k on the clock got a brand new radiator about 6 months ago everything was fine then all of a sudden the temp starts spiking everyday and there's no coolant in the tank I looked at the hoses and spot a little leak I tried duct taping it and for about 2 hours the temp is fine then the coolant tank is empty and the temp spikes until I fill it again should I just replace the hose?

Also for every 1 pound of pressure on a system it RAISES the boiling point 3 degrees.
So for a system under 10lbs your boiling point is raised 30 degrees.
So if the hose leaks the pressure drops lowering the coolant boiling point and waalaa you overheat with a 2000 XJ that has a known flawed casting in the head.

I had the same problem, turned out it was the nipple. Drilled what was left of it out and used a tap & die to thread a brass nipple in. Haven't lost any coolant since.
