I'm getting some exhaust work done in a day or two, so while it's getting done I want to give her some throat. What do you guys think of throwing a glasspack on there? I was considering straight pipe after the cat, but after research it appears not to be such a great idea in WI. So I'm just thinking of having a cherrybomb put on and was wondering if you guys had any other recommendations, do's and don'ts, perhaps or any other ideas that will possibly sound better. I'm definitely open to suggestion as exhausts are not my thing!
Also when I got my build list from Chrysler I got a recalll that hasn't been performed. E22 REPROGRAM PCM AND INSPECT CATALYTIC CONVERTER 08/25/2006
INCOMPLETE USA
I scheduled to have the PCM updated tomorrow but I had a new cat put on in april, is it worth having the PCM reprogrammed or are there other issues that may pop up since it's been so long?

my girlfriends 96 has that recall notice too, weve never taken it in.
I read it was a problem with the ECU not being able to tell if the cat is bad or not..
glasspacks make the HO motors sound like a cummins, its kind of a cool sound.

I put one on 2 weeks ago and last weekend i cut is out. sounded like an open exhaust does after a cat. i put in a flowmaster 40 series sounds better gives a little more throaty sound. go to you tube and search XJ or cherokee with flowmaster you can hear a few XJ's that have them installed

cool. Is that all the reprogram will do? Or does anything else get changed? I figured it's free so, I might as well have it done.. Just concerned that when i replaced the cat the O2 sensor was replaced too(the old one wasn't even connected) so I am concerned that with this upgrade it might trigger the check engine light or something. Also may just me be being the nervous, OCD, paranoid Jeep owner that I am....

Aargh. I went and looked at a bunch of videos of the flowmasters and glasspacks. I like the flowmasters at idle, but I like the glasspacks at higher RPM. Now I don't know what to do, lol. oh well, I've got a day or 2 to make up my mind...

Cool video. I like the sound a lot. Oh, how I miss those beautiful roads in the SW(I lived in AZ for a while) The roads up here(MN,WI border) suck! But driving in the snow is fun....
The recall is from '06 and I only found out about as i requested a build sheet from Chrysler and they sent that with it.

I run straight pipes. My 99 dd has a cat to stay leagal and it has a down stream 02. I was shocked at how quiet it is. My 95 trail rig has no cat and a stack (its a chopped) that sounds real nice. A little on the loud side but it sounds to good to keep quiet.
