Getting oil out of engine cylinder
Hey!
The previous owner of my XJ put a bit too much oil on the most recent air filter, and I think that some may have gotten sucked into an engine cylinder. Does anybody know how to get the oil out of there?

What coil are you speaking of, and how does one go about disabling it? Thanks!

Well, he said that there was too much oil on the air filter. Why would any air filter need oil on it? I've never had to oil up an air filter. Except for K&Ns, I don't think there's very many. He also didn't give any other symptoms. Is there oil burning or the smell of burning oil? Is there blue smoke? Oil in an engine cylinder won't do anything, unless there's so much that it hydrolocks.

I'm only speculating that there might be a bit of standing oil in there. The symptoms are that the engine hiccups quite a bit on startup and then alternates between losing power and revving itself during the first minute of driving. After that, it works beautifully.

Clean up IAC and throttle body. Run some fuel injector cleaner through it... Check manifold temp sensor and clean it.
