I am wondering what gears go best with a 33x10.50 on a mostly street driven vehicle. I did a quick search and found 4.56 but couldn't tell if that was on a strictly off road vehicle or a dd. Just curious as to what everyone is running. right now I have factory gears. 307? and running 31x10.50's just fine. (other than a small speedo error)

 

I think you might have3.55 stock in that 98? I may be wrong tho. And 4.56 will be perfect for those tires. you will notice the torque difference. I had 31's with stock gears and it was kind of slow. I just put on 33's and its even slower. Im putting in 4.56 gears and mine is 95% only on road jeep. hope that helps?

 

just did a little more research and you are correct, my bad, about the gears. I do have the 3.55's the 3.07s came in manuals and the 3.73 came with tow package....thank you wikipedia!.... Now I suppose I just need to find a good source for gears..so far Rusty's is looking like the best deal.

 

from what ive researched i think im going to go with 4.56 gears with 31" tires. thats around 2409 RPM at 65 mph.

i know for sure if i was going with 33" tires i would go 4.88 gears. but then again i live in the mountains.
