I have no doubts your testing in your situation has given great results. But if you think 2500 RPM on a stock XJ is going to net better highway fuel economy than 1900 RPM you've got to re-evaluate a few things. lol

Ive been re-evaluating that jeep for the last 23 years and 513 000km. believe me, under load (like big tires) 2500rpm is by far the best RPM for economy and oil consumption.
Anything below 2000rpm and you are just working unnecessarily.

Not an argument or an opinion, just facts...

V-6 KJ's with the auto trans have the c8.25" with 29 splines and 3.73 gearing.
Not sure if everything else is the same for a swap to match your front gearing.
