Default Gauges not lighting up

When I pull the light switch my gauges do not light up. The clock on the dash also turns off when the light switch is pulled out.

I drive at night and this is an minor issue as I can not tell my speed.

What could be wrong?

Oh, the lights turn on and every thing works, except for the gauge lights.

Please help!

Check the dash light fuse in the fusebox first. INST LPS

My 93 xj just did the same thing. From what research I have done, it is fairly common. I checked my fuse, but it is fine. I made sure my lights weren't just dimmed down, now the only option is to replace the headlight switch and hope it does the trick

Let me know if this helps or if you can figure out what else it is

It is. I changed the fuses but that did not help.

I fiddled with the fuses. I think the switch may have to be replaced.

i did some diy radio instalation in an 02 frontier and after i got it hooked up i had the same problem... your dimmer switch is most likely blown. as a temp fix you should look for ways to bypass it (may have to strip the ground wire and place directly against the body?)
