SO i swapped my gauge cluster, i had the dummy one with just the 2 gauges. I swapped it out for one with every Gauge.

I got the right cluster from the right year. Mine is a 96 i got it off a 93 so everything is the same and is sopposed to work. i Replaced the oil presure sensor and the engine temp sensor. EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT!!!!

EXCEPT the Tachometer It works. but it only goes up to about 3k RPMS even if my engine is completely revvved out. Is this working correctly? Or is it just me? havent rode in a cherokee with the Tachometer i feel like it should be able to redline

My tachometer wont redline if i floor the throttle the tach only goes to about 3k not any higher So what im asking is, is it working correctly what can i do to fix it?

Would it make a differance since the jeep i got it from had an AW4 and i have the 5 speed manual?

 

Pretty sure the different tranny wouldnt tranny wouldn't matter. I did the same thing and I have a five speed and mine will redline. Not sure what's causing the problem, but at least I can tell ya it's not supposed to do that haha

 

ok would it have to do with my gear ratio and tires???

Im running 4.56s in the diffs with 33x12.50s

 

Thats what i would think. Does the tach measure the rpms based on the spedo?? im really confused thankyou for the help!!
