gas tank
i was patching a small rust hole in the cargo area, i know the gas tank is there. i break the drill bit so its only about an inch long then put it in the drill so there is only about 1/8 of the bit showing. drill the hole smell gas . its about 20 degrees out snow no garage to work in. what i want to ask is do you think it will be ok to put a pop rivet in with black rtv to seal it till spring when i can change the tank.

I drilled a small hole in gas tank on my 95. Of course I didnt know this until I started smelling gas and the carpet started bubbling up.Haha. I went to the auto parts store and got a gas tank patch kit. It's pretty much putty that you jam in the whole and it hardens and seals the tank. I drove around for a few years with it like that and not a single issue, so I don't see why black rtv wont work, given it has time to dry.
