We all hate doing this...but take it to a shop to have them look at it and see what it is. you dont have to have them fix it. but you can have them look at it. if your lucky they will do it for free. i had to take mine in to make sure i didnt have a cracked block from a few 8* nights we had. and they looked free of charge
I'm having the same problem with mine in the last few days. I've replaced the cap, rotor, ignition wires, and CPS and all it does is crank all day and sound like it wants to fire but will not. The next thing I'm looking into is the cam sensor.

what are your guesses? mine are timing chain or distributer.... where do you live?
how good is the spark?
could have low coil output.
first thing is first check compression
if compression is really high on some cylinders and normal/ low on the others possible timing chain jump.
next thing you could do is put cylinder on top dead center and see where rotor is pointing. be careful on that you could be at top dead but still be 180 out

check the cam sensor, just pull it off of the oil pump drive shaft and see if the magnetic part is still mounted across from the sensor. also check the input and output on the crank sensor, and switch the ASD relay (auto shut-down) with other relay of that kind in your relay box under the hood. i just had ignition timing problems with my 00 GC 4.0.

with a no start but crank situation.
and you have fuel and spark
i would lean more towards compression first.. compression tells alot..
if you could borrow or rent a gauge and do a compression check that would help to what direction to go..
also what do the plugs look like

Ive got the same problem on a 2000 wj. fuel, spark, and compression all good. cranks and backfires out of throttle body. Seems like timing, rotor spins, need to check the camsensor somehow, someone put a cranksensor and it has a rpm signal. im lost

i had the same problem with my 96 xj and i went through all the bells and whisles you have and it ended up being the ASD relay
there like $10-$15 at a parts store just go get one and put it in and see if works

hmm......... but i swapped the starter relay with the ASD and the starter worked. how can i test ASD?
