i calculated mine to about 13mpg but there was alot of idleing on that tank so it could be better.

mine is a 1990 and 1991 and newer has a HO motor that might make it better or worse.

well when i drive my jeep i always like to keep fuel economy in mind... I just took a sticker off my back bumped for weight reduction and that probably gave me an extra 2-3 MPG so yeah.... Also, i prefer to tke routes with hills that way i can slap it in nuetral and just coast down... i try to make it to the topw ihout gassing it and i find that if you open the door and lean out and foward that you can usually make it up alright as long as you really put your weight into it... so with that in mind, i think im averaging around 25-27 MPG... Well good luck... Cheers

Mine averages to about 18.6 mpg. Not sure what it gets independently in city or on the freeway.

Yea, can you elaborate about your LPG XJ!

My grand total miles per gallon (mpg) since last September has been 16.6. During that period, it consumed 285gal of fuel and ran 4754mi. But I also calculated 22mpg purely on highway. The worst was 13mpg, when we had quite a bit of snow. I live in metropolitan Seattle area and use my xj mainly for driving out towards Cascade Mountains on weekends.

i live in the uk at the moment gas cost 98p per litre about £4.40 gallon or $2.75 a gallon so a lot of 4.0l cherokee, range rovers and simelar have been converted to save money as lpg is only 46p a litre. it is quite strait forward you have a tank in the boot feeding a regulator in the first picture this in turn feed through a venturi system where the air inlet is .in turn turning from a injection engine to a carburretor (sort of ) there is a small control box called a pitagora this fools the ecu into thinking it is still running on gas you have a switch in the cab allowing you to swap between gas and lpg fillar cap under the normal one in the last photo

now thats my understanding of how it works (i bought it converted )so if i am wrong in any way im sure somone will be polite and to tell me
