Yeah that is definitely not normal....I haven't had this problem but somewhere in the neck between the tank and cap you have an issue with a seal or crack or something like that.

Bad or leaking hose between tank neck and fuel filler cap on the body. The pressure build up is what shuts off the fuel when filling and if the pressure is leaking out the the gas pump will fail to stop.

yeah i am going to drop my tank tonight and see if the hose is messed up. i just replaces it like a year ago so maybe it wiggled free some how. if anything i think that it might be the gasket around the tank. i dont know i guess that i will find, i just pray that it doesnt screw up on my way to work.

i think that i just filled it up to much because once i drove it for awhile it went away. so i guess that i just topped it off to much. i know i have a problem with the top seal so i am going to have to replace it eventually.

Once thing to remember and something a mechanic told me once..Never over fill ie top off beyond when the pump clicks off..This leaves fuel in the tube which is not protected and such and if you got into a collision you have a greater chance of fire issues..Made sense to me so I stopped doing it...

That does make sense if you think about it. Everyone is trying to get every ounce of gas in their tanks because the next time it is going to be that much higher priced.

Yeah I hear that...gas prices are sucking bad...and not getting any better...My parents got sick of it and bought a Toyota Prius hybrid..now they avg almost 50 mpg...that's insane..and they recorded a trip at 68 mpg last week...

Sweet. I have been letting my junk sit until I have enough errands to make the expendature of fuel worthwhile.
