All I gotta say is I have 2 trips of 300-400 miles in June and August to make..My pocket book keeps screaming at me about those...Good think my wifes car gets around 33mpg on the highway.. Each trip at this point is will cost me roughly $150 or so in gas..doh..I could buy a new set of tires almost for that money...lol

Well we are planning to go see the grandkids in August and that is 3000 plus miles round trip. And we will probably drive around once we get there. So at 18 MPG that is whoa a lot of money at $4 a gallon assuming it doestn't go higher by then.
So tell me about how much I miss my grandkids!

Yea, mine only does it when I top off. After driving a bit it goes away.

We figured that at $4/gal then we are thinking $800 for gas without too many side trips. So forget Holiday Inn and hello Motel 6.

There's a gasket where the filler neck meets the tank, either that or a fitting that the hose slides over and clamps onto. Depending on the vehicle.

If it's not sealed, when your gas tank gets hot, it's going to evaporate fuel vapor out of that vent. And on a cherokee with stock exhaust, that gas tank is gonna get alittle warm on a hot day. Plus you don't want spillage if you go over an obstacle or ride on a grade with a full tank of gas... So I'd get that issue fixed ASAP!!

A friend of mine was leaking around the fuel pump seal, he ignored it till he filled the tank with water during a water crossing.
