Default Gas Gauge Doesnt Work

Gas Gauge has quit working after cluster swap. Checked the float in the fuel tank and its fine as expected since I had just replaced the sending unit and pump. New gauge cluster has a rpm tach would this affect the gas gauge at all?

No one wants to help? Is it possible to replace the gas gauge on the cluster?

dumb question.. during the swap, do you think there is any way you damaged a wire?

If something worked before, and now it doesn't, it is usually safe to assume that what you did, is the problem.

Possible a bad gauge in the cluster, not sure if it is replaceable by itself. Perhaps plugging the old cluster back in and seeing if the gauge works would eliminate anything with the vehicle itself, and point to the cluster/gauge

Wires looked fine. Ill be plugging the other cluster back in tomorrow to see. Reason im thinking its the cluster is it came from a parts jeep.

I believe the cluster being bad, is a safe bet.

Will the cluster self test or is yours too old to do that?

You must be joking. Nothing self tests on a REnix!! LOL.

Gauges are replaceable individually.

An ohmmeter connected to the fuel gauge connections would verify whether the gauge is good or not.

What are you going to do with the meter? Probe the gauge for ohms while it's plugged in and compare ohms vs gauge reading?
