Default Full Size Spare?

Ok so im running 235/75/15's. i want to know if the spare tire holder in the jeep was made to hold just the toy tire spare or can i use the bolt fixture to fix a 215 which is what came on the xj. it looks like the 235 fits in the space but its a little bulky and i know its a lil bigger than the 215 but the whole idea is can a 215 fit where the toy tire goes?

The stock spare tire location will hold a 235 no problem, mine came stock with one. u can fit up to a 31 I believe, nvr tryed tho I keep my spare in my roof rack.

I have a full sized 235 75R15 spare in my 94XJ and it fits fine so a 215 should be no problem. I was thinking of switching to the full height "donut"..It's basically the width and cheap rim of the donut tires but just as tall as a full sized tire.

I have a hell of a time fitting my 31x10.50 in the stock location... I kinda gave up after 5 minutes of struggling and just let it lean against the side since it seems to stay in place for me

You fit that into the spare mount area in the rear cargo area?

Your size will definitely fit. I have a 32 inch spare in my cargo area. Just had to notch the plastic on the tail gate and it's all good.

Depending on wheel backspace you can fit a 31 no problem. YOu could always replace/extend the stock bolt, if necessary.
