Has anyone come up with any clever ideas for mounting a 31" spare in the back of a XJ while being able to use the back seat? suggestions and pictures are appreciated.

I had one back there on the original spare rack but had to put it on the roof after going to bigger tires.

 

So is it safe to assume that there is no proper way to keep a 31" spare In the Jeep?

 

Mine just lays there.... I tried and tried to get it to fit in the original location and still be able to latch the back seat, but it didn't work. If you have onboard air you can air it down and make it fit, but that's the only suitable way I know of.

 

Just lay it on the floor. It fits. It's better than hanging up on the stock location, blocking your rear view.
