So this week untill the 1st is 50% off at pick your part in San Diego. So I went got my buddy's gf a mirror for her honda. A replacement spedo gear for my tansfer case and a front drive shaft from a zj with v8 it measure out perfect for my sye that I did. As I'm dropping off the mirror to my buddy I start the jeep to leave and I hear what sounds like a car in the blender. It's done this one other time but I was totally empty. It's the fuel pump, today I have 1/4-1/2 according to my gauge. It was also dying and it would restart and die. It finically stabilized I drive the 30 miles home now no noise. I know I need a pump. I also think this is the starting issue I've been having since I got the jeep. In cold weather or when wet it will some times not start just cranks it's lil heart out. Problem is when I put the glue pressure gauge on it it's at 30psi key on and with the regulator on while running regulator off I get 40 psi no matter what. So next will be new pump but my tank is supposed to be a 20 gallon tank but when my reserve light is on I can only put in from 10- to my most so far is 14 gallons. I figure either my tank is messed up or I have a 12 gallon tank that I'm over filling and I want to replace the tank with the pump what year Cherokees will work and be a direct swap and have the largest tank ? I'm a 88 2 door 5 speed 4.0

Seems like you should have the 20gal tank, but a 20 is the largest stock size i am aware of. Grab all the needed hardware for the 20 straps and all bolt on hardware.

So the zj driveshaft is working well? I have a front driveshaft from an XJ on my sye and it is about flexed half way out at ride height. Need a longer one. Have 4.5 inch lift.

I'm at 4.5 and I have the ax 15 and np231 and I was showing splines at ride height that was with a shaft from a 98 4.0 and auto and 231 it was 34" full extended with about 1 mm of aines exposed I found a 94 zj v8 auto with a 231 but between the trans and the t case was some large looks like tails shaft housing edaptor or some **** my shaft at ride height is 34.25" and I have a lot of slip now not scared to flex it. Just need a front axle now to get the right gears going

I have a 90 xj gas tank sitting in my patio. (parting out) Will go and look at in a little bit to see if it says how many gallons or indicates anything on it. Be nice if it just says how many gallons it holds. On my 91 I can only get about 14 gallons in it.

Just went out and looked and it doesn't say anything on the tank. However it is completely empty and en route to the dumpster. So I'm am going to get a milk jug and see how many gallons of water it can hold. Then measure the tank size with a measuring tape. That way you can just go measure your tank from underneath to compare.

Full of water now. Might use on my other Jeep after I found out it holds 25 gallons. Have to measure the other jeep first. But yeah it took 25 gallons. Here are the measurements though. That way you can measure yours.

You could very well have a 20, I know on mine and a few others I know of the float/gauge lie lie lie. When my light comes on it takes anywhere from 15 to 17 for a top off.
Try doing some math... 20gal is 3.27 cu feet
12gal is 1.98 cu feet
length x width x height= cu ft

Yeah will do. Now I feel dumb about putting water into it. O well. For future reference it came off of a 90 sport with no tow package and almost zero options.
